Dear Reader,

We are not currently accepting any unsolicited full-length manuscripts for publishing. We do, however, publish a small print magazine, The Silt Reader, (circulation 300-500 per issue, sample issue is $2) twice a year. You may submit poems for consideration to:

Temporary Vandalism
P.O. Box 6184
Orange, CA 92863-6184
Submit no more than five poems (typed and proofread) and be sure to enclose an SASE (self-addressed, stamped envelope) if you would like to know what has happened to your poems. Then, be patient. Barton and I are very busy and tend to read our submissions in blocks of time. You will usually receive a response (form letter, sadly) before six months time.
Over the past five years our intake of poetry has increased dramatically, but our sales have diminished. This is the unfortunate demise of many small presses. We don't blame anyone. Many editors will try to convince you of your “responsibility” to the small press, and there is some serious food for thought on this point. You must take it all in, and let it germinate. Do not be discouraged by it all. Every one of us is trying our best to make poetry valuable in this world. Ask yourself, “What is it worth to me?” and then proceed . . .
    Temporarily Yours,
    robert roden
