Clear Blue Dam and the Southern California Wishful Draughting

What we like is the absence—
the brown beige dust powdered weatherless day
and night.
The symphony of relaxed
but hurried line segment satisfaction.
This week weakened us,
our biblical flood
up there with the fire and the earthquakes
cold emotional wreckage
rising from the riverbed
defying that 60 year assumption
the concrete task
of holding back.
