Butterfly and Dragonfly observers can use Wildlife Recorder to keep their sightings, just as birders do.  All databases (North American Butterflies, North American Odonates, World Mammals) come FREE with your purchase of Wildlife Recorder for Birds.  Download a butterfly list to your PDA and keep your field notes using Pocket Bird Recorder, too.

For only $130 plus shipping you get editable North American butterflies, dragonflies, birds and mammals databases.  Wildlife Lister, our other program starts at $70 for the butterflies, birds and dragonflies.   Call our toll-free phone #  below to hear details.

The view below is just one of many ways you can view your butterfly sightings.

  • The species sightings view (bottom of page) is automatically generated from trip information you provide.  Easy keyboard entry or use Pocket Bird Recorder to keep your sightings and import them directly into the main database.

You can attach butterfly photos or video clips to your own sighting records in our Media Catalog.  Associate them with your sightings as shown below:

Before a trip, print out a Checklist of Butterflies from any state like the one below.

  • The user can specify how many columns the checklist is to have and the start date of the checklist.
  • Common and/or scientific names can be printed.
  • The species to be printed on the checklist can come from one of your lists or from the supplied species database.

Most importantly, your accumulated sightings (odes shown here) are kept on record and easily accessed, sorted by date and location in a relational database.
