On this site you will find not only our class current schedule of events, but a schedule of out assignments, word of the week, quote of the week, and activities, and my homework schedule.  I try to update this site weekly, but I might get behind sometimes. "To err is human, to forgive divine."

*Your child can check out a Math CD set, or a copy of the Open Court Listening Library for the current unit.     
                              

HOMEWORK SCHEDULE
Homework is the responsibility of the students and will be assigned most nights, including weekends.  My weekly schedule is consistent, and there is usually a monthly assignment (book report, writing assignment, or project).  Unfinished work, will be done on the student's own time (recess, lunch) on the day the assignment is due. There is also make-up work, and unfinished work for those who need to catch up.  I give time in class to work on assignment, and if the student uses this time efficiently there is little to do at home.  If they finish in class, they can bring it home for you to check over.

Math: Chapter 7 - Division                                                                * Monday through Friday: Two pages of homework; one homework page and one problem solving page.  The days that we are doing the exploration, study guide or test there will be no math homework for that day.  Please look on the assignment sheet for those days.

Open Court: Unit 3 - Imagination
*Tuesdays: comprehension worksheet (due Wednesdays)
*Wednesdays: skills packet (due Thursdays)
*Read selection from the take home book, or copy (Reading note, due at the end of unit)

Spelling: tied to Open Court
*Mondays or Tuesdays: packet (ABC order, Unscrambling, Worksheet, and choices)(due Thursdays)

Other topics: Science and Social Studies will be assignment as necessary.

Monthly projects and book reports: Assigned in the beginning of the month, and due toward the end of the month.

Reading Log: 20-30 minutes/day.  Record number of pages on log turned in on Fridays.  Goal- 400 pp/month.
