I Raindrop

Heaven is a great big white Fluffy
Laden with souls
Descending onto the earthly realm
We are granted a reprieve from unity
A temporary escape from oneness
A holiday from the Godhead
Individuality is a blessing to some
A curse for others
Not all of the Great Spirit becomes a soul
At the first feel of earth beneath us
We flow into the tributaries of our Family
We flow into the creeks of our Tribe
We flow into the streams of our nations
Seeking the path of least resistance
Into the open arms of the Great Valley
Where we merge into the river of life together
This is where the magic happens
On this journey from raindrop to ocean
It's not where it started
It's not where it ends
It's the journey between the two
Here is where the one becomes the many
Here the universe discovers it self
Here is where the cosmic game is being held
Here is where those who finish the game
Are rewarded with the last and funniest of all Jokes
Toward the end of our journey
We flow into straights of middle age
Then into the Bay of contemplation
Through the threshold of geezerhood
Back into the Ocean of spirit again
Its vast oneness is the beginning and the end
Selves give way to the one
I am home again
Thank you for the reprieve from unity
Thank you for the holiday form oneness
As my last drop of ego merges into the sea of forever
The evaporation begins again
The cycle starts anew
Funny after such a wonderful journey
Yet I find myself not volunteering to go again
Rain rain go away
