6. Cessation of Thought

It is written that one day Notire Busara came upon a group of monks praying 
in a meadow.  Observing that one of the monks was standing expressionless 
to one side, Notire inquired, " And why are you not praying with the others? 

" I have meditated more and more about less and less until I completely 
mastered the formlessness of nothing,"  the monk replied. "My mind is 
completely shut down and devoid." 

" And how is it that with the attainment of this 'nroda-sampatti'  you are 
able to converse with me?" Notire asked. 

"What was the Question?" the monk asked. 

Notire passed on, enlightened.
