Click for Biography on General Tony Robertson, USAF ret
General Tony Robertson , USAF ret , was probably my biggest source of inspiration when the going got tough to keep promised medical care for military retirees on the front burner. There were many moments in the fight leading to Tricare For Life when an encouraging word and support from General Robertson provided the inspiration and the determination to crank the mission. We owe him a lot...Thank you, Sir!

ret
Lt. General P.K.Carlton Jr., USAF ret, was one of the biggest supporters of
Tricare for Life. He was the one responsible for seeing that military
retirees regained admittance to Military Treatment Facilities under his command
during his tenure as Surgeon General of the United States Air Force.
He leaned forward and thought out of the box. To do that in Washington DC takes a lot of guts.

A Trio Of Beautiful, Fantastic, Warbirds
The Putt Putt Maru, was the personal mount of Colonel Chuck MacDonald, CO, 475th FG, United States Army Airforces, Pacific Theatre of Operations. There were five Putt Putt Maru's. The first was a P-47 and the others were all P-38s. The one shown here is a P-38 L5, which is the same model aircraft I flew. The L Model is easily destinguishable by the built in landing light in the left wing .
The four leading P-38aces in the Pacific were:
- Major Richard Bong...HQ V Fighter Command....Marge...40 kills... Killed testing F-80s at Lockheed in southern California, August 6th 1945, the day the A-bomb burst over Hiroshima. Top leading U. S. Ace of all Wars. The Ace of Aces.
- Major Tom McGuire....431st FS...Pudgy V...38 kills... McGuire AFB named after him. KIA January 7th 1945.
- Colonel Chuck MacDonald...HQ 475th FG...Putt Putt Maru....27 kills.
- Major J T Robbins...80th FS.....Jandina....22 kills ....Robbins, retired as a Lt General, Vice Commander, Military Airlift Command, USAF.
General Robbins was once my instructor at Santa Rosa. One of the finest men I have ever had the pleasure of knowing in my life, and a hell of a poker player...also, a pool shark extrordinaire !!!. The General has now passed on to the Big Ready Room upstairs
Colonel MacDonald was the top scoring P-38 pilot to survive the war.
Lt Bob Clements, USAAF, December 1944..P-38L with four .50 cal and one 20mm cannon..Ready To Go!!!
A F-16 from the 56th Fighter Wing Luke AFB, AZ.
